Just 63 years ago, Ruby Bridges became the first Black child to desegregate the all-white William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana after segregation was struck down by the Supreme Court. Kai XR’s Ruby Bridges virtual experience helps students understand the impact that racism and segregation has had on our society while enabling them to marvel at the strength and resiliency of Ruby Bridges, who at just six years old became a Civil Rights icon and faced threats so great that she had to be escorted by U.S. Marshals to and from school, and her entire family.

This engaging field trip invites students to join Vidya as she traces back her roots and describes how her cultural experience and heritage has shaped her music and career trajectory. Regardless of whether they know her music, students will walk away with a greater understanding and appreciation of the role that culture, heritage, and family play in shaping creativity and future careers.

This immersive, high-flying virtual field trip takes students one-on-one with female pilots to help shine a spotlight on the many achievements women have made in the field of aviation. Get in the cockpit with Teara Fraser, a pilot with 17 years of experience who went from being a single mom to the founder and CEO of Iskwew Air, Canada’s first 100% indigenous woman-owned airline.

Gaby is working to leave her own mark on history by fighting for change in her community. Gaby’s Story follows her efforts to revitalize and restore her community through civic engagement. By following Gaby’s story, students can gain a greater understanding of the role of advocacy and community organizing in addressing basic societal needs and creating safer, stronger communities.

In this adventure, students take a trip to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, to learn about the history that led to the formation of the Negro Leagues in the 1920s, including the exclusion of African-American baseball players from Major League Baseball (MLB). Importantly, students can also learn about the critical role that three African-American women played as they broke both racial and gender boundaries to play in the Negro Leagues.
