This month, we shine a spotlight on the incredible contributions of Black pioneers in science, the profound impact of civil rights leaders like Martin Luther King Jr., the courageous spirit of Ruby Bridges, and the legendary legacy of Kobe Bryant. Dive into the poetry of Langston Hughes and step back in time at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

Black History Month Adventures

Langston Hughes Adventure

  • February 1st not only kicks off Black History Month, but it is also the birthday of one of the most influential figures in African-American literature— Langston Hughes. On this adventure students will travel to the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center for Black History to explore Hughes’ literature and legacy as well as his contributions to the Harlem Renaissance.

Black History Month Virtual Field Trips
