No. You do not have to use a headset to take a Kai XR field trip. Our content is accessible via smartphones, tablets, desktop computers, and laptops.
360 virtual reality is interactive content that completely surrounds a user in 360˚as if they are standing in the middle of a scene. This content can be viewed through any device including tablets and smartphones. By looking through their device screen, students can look in any direction to see a Kai XR field trip as if they were there in real life.
Kai XR virtual field trips are diverse 360˚/VR content highlighting locations around the world. By collaborating with museums ranging from the National Portrait Gallery (NPG) to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM), Kai XR creates kid-friendly immersive content created just for them.
For kids 12 and under, we recommend Kai XR’s Exploration Mode which gives younger kids a non-immersive and safe pathway to VR. Click here to learn more about Kai XR’s Exploration Mode.
According to virtual reality standards and regulations, VR headsets are appropriate for kids 13 and older with adult supervision.
Kai always recommends adult supervision when using the Kai XR platform.
